What we build
Additions and New Construction in San Antonio
More room for the way you live, taken from early planning through to a finished build.
Overview
More room, built to fit the home you have
When a home runs out of room, an addition can give you another bedroom, a bigger kitchen or living area, or a space of your own, without leaving a neighborhood you like. New construction takes the same approach from the ground up.
ABIA takes additions and new builds from early planning through city approval to a finished build, with one team managing each stage. The goal is simple: an addition that looks like it was always part of the house.
Project types
What an addition or new build can be
Room addition
A bedroom, office, primary suite or living space added to the house you have.
Kitchen or living expansion
An existing room pushed out to give it the space it needs.
New construction
A new build on your lot, planned from the start around how you want to live in it.

Why work with ABIA
One team, start to finish
The same team plans, coordinates and manages your project, so nothing is lost between the first conversation and the last detail.
Clear communication
You know what is happening, what comes next and who to ask, before, during and after the build.
Options before construction
Layouts, finishes and design alternatives are talked through early, while changes are still simple to make.
Craftsmanship you can see
Straight lines, clean transitions and finished details. The photographs on this site are the argument.
Cost

Questions
Additions and New Construction: common questions
If yours is not here, ask it in the form and we will answer it directly.
All questions and answers01Do additions need city approval?
Most do. Plans go through review and approval before building starts, and that is part of every ABIA addition: the City Involvement stage comes before construction.
02Will the addition match my house?
That is the aim. Rooflines, exterior materials, windows and trim are planned to match the existing home, so the addition does not look added on.
03Can we stay in the home during an addition?
Usually, yes. Most of the work happens outside the existing house until the two are joined, and that stage is planned to keep disruption short.
04Do you build new homes?
Yes. New construction is taken from early planning through city approval to a finished build, managed by one team.
05How does an addition start?
With a conversation and a visit: what you need the space for, where it could go, and what the lot allows. The scope and plans come out of that.
